Current Events Assignment: Please remember to sign up and complete 2 current events per semester!

Final Exam:
  • Students will be tested over chapter 7-21 on 1/25 at 8:20am.
  • Students are highly encouraged to review previous tests.  Review all vocabulary & study guide questions.  Worksheets may also be reviewed (13 colonies, Civil War, railroad, chapter 21). 
  • Test will contain 100 multiple choice questions, 20-25 of which will focus on chapter 21. 
  • Sample questions include recall (Who was the United States' first president?) to analysis (Based on the cartoon provided, what can you say about the role of big business in American politics in the early 1900s?).
Extra Credit: Besides the Katrina extra credit from earlier this semester, you may turn in any unused homework passes for +5 each; you may also turn in a box of kleenex for +5.  Due 1/25 by the end of the testing period.
 
 
Chapter 21
This will be the last chapter before the semester final.
  • week 1/3-6 - students completed 21.1-3, Spanish-American War wksts, Puerto Rico & Alaska wksts  Quiz is postponed till 1/10.
  • week 1/9-13 - Hawaiians wkst, ch 21 quiz, start review for finals.  Students may review previous tests for final exam. Turn in all incomplete work by 1/13 for credit.
 

Chapters 17-20

 

  • week 11/14-18 - present Reconstruction projects, 17.1-3, cowboy & soldier wksts, 17.1 quiz
  • week 11/21-23 - 18.1-2, transcontinental railroad wkst, industrial giants wkst
  • week 11/28-12/2 - 18.3, quiz chapter 18, 19.1-2

Extra Credit Chapter 17-20 Test: Bring in a box of kleenex for +5 on your test.

 

 

Chapters 14-16

 

  • week 10/17-21 - go over 14.2-15.15.2; worksheets on oregon country, 49ers, fugitive slave act, transcontiental railroad, frederick doouglass, population of 1850.  Started movie Gettysburg.
  • week 10/24-28 - Continue watching Gettysburg, 15.3-16.2, start Reconstruction Task Menu in English class (Ms. Kim), quiz on ch15 & movie
  • week 10/31-11/4 - work on Reconstruction projects in computer lab; notes for 16.1-3
  • week 11/7-10 - work on Reconstruction projects in computer lab

 

CANCELLED - Test 11/10 - review vocabulary, section review questions, worksheets & movie notes & quizzes.  +5 points added to test if you bring in a box of kleenex.

 

Chapters 10-13

  • week 9/16-23 - 10.1-11.2, wksts 10.1-3, intro group project
  • week 9/26-30 - 11.3-12.3, work on project with mobile lab
  • week 10/3-7 - presentations, 13.1-2
  • week 10/10-14 - presentations (Chapter 10, 11, 12 - you must have PowerPoint to view these shows), 13.3, test on 10/12, 14.1    
  • Extra credit for Test:

    Bring in one box of Kleenex (unused for those of you who have asked) for +5 points on your Test.  Kleenex must be submitted by October 12, and include your full name and period. NB - if you have already submitted a box, you may not do so again.

 

Chapters 7-9

  • Week 8/25-26 - Students completed the Intro to course, text 7.1 and worksheet 7.1.
  • week 8/29-9/2 - students completed 7.2, 7.3, 8.1 & 8.2; worksheet 7.2, Ben Franklin, & "George Washington" Video worksheets, 13 colonies map, French & English interests map, vocab worksheet, & people and events worksheet.
  • week 9/6-9/9 - students complted 8.3, 9.1 & 9.2; Declaration of Independence, Ethnic Origins of the colonies

Extra Credit for the Chapter 7-9 Test!!!!

 

Bring in one box of Kleenex (unused for those of you who have asked) for +5 points on your Review Test.  Kleenex must be submitted by September 16, and include your full name and period.
